Privacy policy
ShiroStudy is built to help you learn, not to collect data about you. This page explains, in plain words, what we keep and why.
What we collect
- Your account: a username, your email address and your password (stored only as a salted hash).
- Your progress: your study sets, card states, session progress and mastery scores, so it follows you to other devices.
- What you import: files, photos and text you add to make a study set. Uploaded files are kept for up to 30 days (or until you delete the set) so a set can be regenerated, then deleted.
- Tutor chats: questions you ask the AI tutor, together with what is on screen, are sent to answer them. Chats are kept on your device, not on our servers.
How AI is used
Study sets, mastery scores and tutor answers are made by Claude models from Anthropic, reached through OpenRouter. They receive only what is needed for the request (your imported material, or your set and results) and are not used by us to train models.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data and there are no ads or third-party trackers. We use a few providers to run the service: Cloudflare (servers, database, file storage), Render (website hosting), OpenRouter (AI requests) and Resend (account emails such as verification).
When you share a study set, anyone with its link can see its title, summary, notes, flashcards and questions until you stop sharing it.
Emails
We send account emails only: verifying your address and, if needed, important notices about the service. No newsletters unless you ask for them.
Your choices
You can change your details in the app. To get a copy of your data or delete your account and everything in it, email hello@shironc.com from the address on your account.
Children
The service is meant for learners aged 13 and up. If you are younger, please use it with a parent or guardian.
Changes
